The Halloween Industry Came Out to Play in New Orleans!

Halloween and Haunt enthusiasts were plenty at the Halloween & Party Expo in New Orleans this month. The annual show brought thousands of buyers, sellers, manufacturers, haunters and Halloween aficionado’s together to discover the latest trends and tips for 2019. The convention center attracted the biggest names in the industry as well as some incredible entrepreneurial start-ups, show casing a variety of jaw dropping products.

A big emerging trend this year revolved around interactive costumes, Princess Paradise was all about innovation with the debut of their Baby Shark inspired, candy-catching costume for kids. Rasta Imposta had an equally engaging creation with their playable Cornhole costume. Elope’s Spitting Llama costume doused the crowd during the annual runway show and Ellie Shoes stomped the competition with their magic sequin boots.

Rubie’s stepped up their licensing game with some brand-new Marvel costumes including the highly anticipated Captain Marvel. Underwraps showcased their new licensed Build-A-Bear line for the little ones and we fell in love with the officially licensed Sesame Street collection for dogs and cats by newcomer, Pet Krewe.

Speaking of the mom and pops and independent impresario’s of the industry, Boneware Cutlery showcased some pretty spooky spoons and we discovered a seriously cool color changing candle created by SV Kroma. Pulling at our nostalgic heart strings were the Breakfast Buddies by Malmey Masks that made us really hope that General Mills gives them a call!

Speaking of masks, Zagone Studios lit up the show with their brand new UV Reactive masks that glow ultra-bright under black light! Woochie FX showcased their incredible products and mad skills during the Artistic Battleground winning first prize in the make-up showdown. The entire industry dressed up and showed out at the annual The Brewing where hundreds danced the night away in costume and celebrated all the excitement of Halloween 2019!
